Hi!

If you are a Nadela whose origin can be traced back to Cebu, Philippines or if you are someone remotely related to a Nadela, this website is for you.

I have often been asked, how am I related to this Nadela or to that Nadela and my favorite answer is "Ambot laaanng!".

Frankly, I do not know many of my relatives and I realized that there are so many Nadelas out there. Hence I have decided to create this website.

I hope to create a database to document all the Nadelas scattered all over the world. I also hope that this will get the Nadelas to get to know each other and perhaps help one another.

If you are a Nadela and would like to help in building this database, you are very much welcome. Please register so I can give you access and provide you instructions what to do.

If you don't want to do that, you can email to me your family tree and I will personally enter them into the database.

I am encouraged by the response of the Nadelas to this website. Many have emailed me expressing their delight in discovering this website and many have given me information about their lineage. I was able to gather more information during Reunion 2008 and as a result, there are now over 1,000 individuals in the database.

I am quite sure that a number of the information in the genealogy are not accurate. Please point them out so I can correct.

This website also contains news and articles about anything related to a Nadela. Most of these articles were taken from internet sources.

Fred,

You have an interesting site and am impressed by the number of persons that have been added to the genealogy. I have tried to upload my family tree, but looks like I am unable to do so.

In a recent Nadela gathering in Carcar, the group mentioned the existence of this web site. I offered to open up one, but found that I did not have all the skills for it.

There is no sense in duplicating your site, but we have a need update plans and information for a reunion which we are planning to hold on November 3, 2008. I have opened another site at http://nadela.rpweb.ph

It is currently free-form (meaning, I start each page from scratch). Its a lot faster than trying to learn and implement one of these content management software. I will make do with this in the meantime, but will try to bring it to the level of your site.

You are welcome to use any material on my site whether by linking to it or using bits of information for whatever projects or articles you may want to do.

Lastly, I would like to seek for your permission to use your header so as to have some consistency in our home pages.

She is reported as one of the missing passengers of the ill-fated MV Princess of the Stars. The Nadela Clan of Cebu expected her to be one of them, but two days after she was reported missing, nobody in Cebu claimed to know her origins.

Junrey Nadela, a journalist with ABS-CBN decided to write about Mary Grace in his newspaper column. Sure enough, Joseph, the brother of Mary Grace got in touch with Junrey. This was the beginning of the end of the Pilgrimage of Mary Grace.

The Nadela Clan of Cebu assembled and offered assistance to Joseph and Max Nadela in their quest for the missing Mary Grace. We are now trying to assemble an essay with pictures depicting how the Nadelas of Cebu helped in completing the pilgrimage of Mary Grace to see the birthplaces of her father and mother.

It turns out that Mary Grace and I are very much related. My mother, nee Nieves Nadela Fernandez had relatives not only in Kalidngan, Carcar City, but also in Labangon & Punta Princesa, Cebu City. I would like to trace that relationship, but I do not have the skills of putting in the information in the family tree in this site. Philip is born in General Santos City by PO3 Cesar Nadela. PO3 Cesar Nadela is the youngest son of Gregorio Nadela who is my grandfather. As far as I know, my grandfather together with his sisters and brothers migrated and settled from Cebu to North Cotabato in their early age (1900). I am Alan Cabalquinto. My great grandfather is Leandro Nadela of Calidngan, Carcar, Cebu. He used to have a brass band which played during fiestas in Calidngan and during burial of relatives. I believe his band instruments are now displayed in the Carcar museum. His eldest daughter, Adriana Nadela Dayanan is my grandmother. I can remember only two of my Lola's brothers, Benito and Eleuterio. All of them are now deceased.

HELLO.nice to have this website where we could possibly establish our genealogy and trace back the roots of our ancestors. i am dionisio jr,and my granfather is named enrique of Ginatilan, Cebu and i havent seen them.I grew up in kabacan, North Cotabato and mastered the local dialect which is Ilocano.Enrique was married to Roberta Jatico and born from them Leopoldo,Reynalda, Honorata, Dionisio Sr, and the youngest, a usafe veteran,i forgot his name,and all now resting in peace. I presently work in the provincial government as a Vet.for 20 years now. Ive heard lots of our guys can sing well but in our tree, i think its only in our branch modestly aside,where singers this side are. in fact, all of my 5 kids can play musical instrument and i formed them into a band, part time though, they are all in school yet.We are celebrating our own day and come together in regular reunion. my siblings: henry, helen and nellie. im sending u some pics later..

Aside from playing music, all of us from the family are tennis players. My eldest, Czayrie Vera, 21; my only son, Xyrwin Dion, 17; June Dianne, 16; Lara Ivanah, 14 and my youngest, Jonn, 7.
They've already gone competing in Davao and in other parts of Mindanao as well.
My son, Xyrwin is a lead guitarist in the music ministry of a christian organization, "youth for Christ". My eldest, Czayrie, a nursing student, is playing the keys. She also had gigs together with her friends in some local bars. Me and my wife, Monette, are also in the music ministry of the Couples for Christ.
